A Sculptural installation at Kew Gardens around Queen Charlottes Cottage 2003
The sculptures were inspired by the animals and birds from the menagerie collected at Kew in 1770. These included kangaroos, buffalos, pheasants and it is even thought that Queen Charlotte may have kept a Zebra.
The sculptures were also designed to reflect the bio-diversity of the area around the cottage as symbolised in the embossed copper and aluminium peacock’s feathers, which looked like the leaves of the local Plymouth Pear tree.
