What a Dainty Dish

An installation, exploring the themes of feasts, food, ritual and community at the Tower of London 2004.

Central to the project was a 5 metre long banqueting table; a light box which changes from blue to pink as it blushes at some of the 32 recipes inspired by peoples lives, that were worked into its organza table cloth. A sumptuous array of embroidered silk oysters, cray fish and other royal delicacies were served before the king.

At the Head of the Table was a large Listening Throne, which whispers children’s dreams of. “If I was King or Queen for the day”…

A video installation is contained in a sculptural pot created from casts of deaf peoples hands. The film is viewed through water in the pot.
